Originally from England, Richard has been a DJ for thirty years had has played all over the world, including Europe, Australia, South America and of course the USA and Canada. Richard has worked at and hosted many radio shows including his eighteen years with KROQ in Los Angeles, to KNAC and Star 98.7. He can currently be heard all across the US and Canada hosting a daily show on Sirius XM Satellite radio (First Wave Sirius XM 33) plus is the voice of Electric Area Ch. 52 with Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, David Guetta etc.
Richard has appeared in and hosted many TV shows including MV3, Video One, Video Beat, The Rock’n’Roll Evening News and Square Pegs. He recently produced both seasons of VH1’s “Bands Reunited” and appeared with Brett Michaels on “Rock Of Love”. He’s also been seen starring in a number of films including “Girls Just Want To Have Fun”, “Spellcaster” and “Long Lost Son” (which Richard also wrote). He was a co-star on “Glory Daze” on TBS. Richard brings his extensive knowledge of MC’ing and music to every event he plays at to make it extra special for all those involved. He understands the importance of the occasion and that you only have the one chance to do it correctly – and Richard always goes out of his way to make it exciting for all involved.
In the 1990s the success of Richard Blades midday show on KROQ “Richard Blade’s Flashback Lunch” inspired the release of “Richard Blade’s Flashback Favorites” through Sony/Oglio records. For the series I was privileged to work with some amazing artists in compiling the albums including Tears For Fears, XTC, Soft Cell, The Jam, Thompson Twins, ABC, Bananarama, Madness, OMD, The Bangles, Men At Work, Heaven 17, Psychedelic Furs and many more bands who brought us some of the greatest music of the 80s. On this page are the covers of all 6 of my “Richard Blade’s Flashback Favorites” albums. And yes, they did come out on both CD and cassette (remember cassettes?).
Over the years Richard has played at thousands of clubs and events, from the biggest corporate get-togethers to major clubs from Spain to New York, from London to Los Angeles, and opened for some of music’s biggest acts from The Police, Depeche Mode and George Michael to The B-52s, Duran Duran, the Lost 80’s Live and has brought his special touch to each and every performance. His list of satisfied clients reads like a who’s-who of show business.
